Welcome to Everyday Beautiful! I created this blog to share my passion for making home a little bit of heaven on earth, one small, simple, intentional step at a time.
Three favorite quotes that have defined my vision for home are: “Home interprets heaven. Home is heaven for beginners” by Charles Henry Parkhurst; “Do small things with great love” by Mother Teresa; and “Everything is grace” by Therese of Lisieux.
I love the idea that home is our first taste of heaven, a little sliver of that experience of peace and belonging we will enjoy with our Maker for eternity.
Creating an inviting place that everyone wants to be is a daunting task amidst the hectic, the stressful, the crazy busyness of life – especially for working women and busy moms. Yet I passionately believe a beautiful home and a content heart are possible for everyone. I’m not talking about a stuffy “house” of Pinterest worthy display, but rather that place of peace, happiness, and deliciousness that continually draws hearts like a magnet back to your front door.
In my life, the key to everyday beautiful is finding grace in the mundane, and believing that baby steps, simple solutions, and slow growth make every day more beautiful than the last.
This “little ways” approach – simple grace-filled steps forward – can be applied to home style, family life, health and wellness, fitness, food, beauty and more. It has transformed my heart from a place of exasperated “I’ll never get to where I should be” to contentment and joy in the journey.
Natural wellness is another passion of mine. I have been amazed at how healthy eating, clean beauty, safer health products and a regular fitness regimen have transformed my family from the inside out. I’m an advocate for clean, safer beauty with Beautycounter, and I teach classes on how to use essential oils for natural wellness. If you have any questions or would like more information on safer products for your home and family, I’d love to chat.
My little bit of heaven on earth includes a Stud, four small children, one big dog, a homeschool, strong coffee, red wine, lots of trips to Costco and Trader Joes, and a Savior who redeems my broken, unworthy life and transforms it into something beautiful, every day.
I’m so glad you’re here.
“He has made everything beautiful in its time … he has put eternity into man’s mind” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
