January Bible Reading Challenge

Happy New Year, friends!

Wanted to share briefly that I’ll be leading a “chapter a day” Bible challenge through my Instagram account in January, encouraging others to read just one chapter of the Bible every day.

January has 31 days and the Book of Proverbs has 31 chapters, so we’ll be reading through Proverbs to kick off the new year.

When I was little my Dad always taught that “a chapter a day keeps the Devil away.” Throughout our childhood he was always encouraging my siblings and me to at least read one chapter a day, as a way to keep God’s Word pouring into our lives. It’s a habit Peter and I are now working on with our own children, but we know the habit of daily Bible reading has to start with us first.

Will you join me in reading a chapter of Proverbs a day for January? Follow me on Instagram (@stephanieweinert) and tag your friends so they can join us too. If you’d like to share your Bible reading habit on social media, use the hashtag #chapteradaychallenge so we can all learn from each other about the themes of Proverbs and what God is doing in our lives through this simple chapter a day habit.

My friend Victoria of the printables shop Ampersand has created a Chapter a Day Calendar for January so we can check off our daily reading, and track if we ever need to catch up throughout the month. Download for free here

I’ll do my best to do a quick Instagram Story at 7a.m. ET on Tuesday and Thursday mornings to talk about Proverbs and how we can foster a habit of scripture in our homes.

Praying for a happy, healthy, holy 2019 for you and your family!

XO, Steph

“By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” – Proverbs 24:3-4

  1. I love that “a chapter a day keeps the Devil away” quote and this challenge too! I’m currently working my way through a Bible in a Year program and the daily practice has been so good (and hard too, but mostly good, hah!). Wishing you a wonderful start to 2019! xox
